London - The chief executive of the Rugby World Cup in England has suddenly quit less than six months before the tournament starts.

Organizers announced on Friday that Debbie Jevans has resigned for “personal reasons.”

Jevans, who was director of sport at the 2012 London Olympics, said: “This is the right decision for me to make at this time.”

Chief financial officer Stephen Brown will now become managing director of England 2015, the company running the tournament, which begins in September.
