Johannesburg – Southern hemisphere rugby body Sanzar says a judicial officer is considering a complaint of “match day misconduct” against the Stormers team management during a Super Rugby game against the Hurricanes in New Zealand two weeks ago.

Neither Sanzar nor South Africa's Stormers would say what the mysterious complaint related to. Sanzar stressed it would not comment beyond a two-sentence statement on Tuesday because the matter was before a judicial officer.

The Cape Town-based Stormers beat the Wellington-based Hurricanes 18-16 in the game in Palmerston North on April 26. An incident involving Stormers officials during the match at FMG Stadium is the subject of the complaint.

The Stormers are in Sydney to face the New South Wales Waratahs this weekend. The Hurricanes are in South Africa and play the Cheetahs on Friday. – Sapa-AP
