Durban – Sharks coach John Plumtree has made just one change to his starting line-up for the second match of their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign against the Stormers in Durban on Saturday.

Springbok forward Jean Deysel has been included in the starting XV ahead of Jacques Botes, with the match 22 exactly the same from the one that overcame the Cheetahs 29-22 in the opening round of the season in Bloemfontein last week.

Deysel was amongst three players that picked up slight knocks in that game Ä the flanker sustained a head injury along with Meyer Bosman, while Lwazi Mvovo sustained a groin problem.

However, all three retain their places in the squad for a match that is a repeat of last year’s semi-final and Currie Cup final.

Plumtree warned that his players had to work on a few things after the opening weekend of action.

“We were a bit clumsy at the breakdown, we would secure the ball comfortably and then it would pop out the side,” Plumtree said.

“A couple of times we were short of numbers and got turned over, a couple of times poor carrying into contact.

“The Stormers hit you hard, so you need to make sure you maintain possession when they do. We’ve worked on that in training, it’s a big focus.”

The Sharks team: Louis Ludik, JP Pietersen, Paul Jordaan, Francois Steyn (captain), Lwazi Mvovo, Patrick Lambie, Cobus Reinach, Ryan Kankowski, Jean Deysel, Marcell Coetzee, Franco van der Merwe, Anton Bresler, Jannie du Plessis, Craig Burden, Tendai Mtawarira.

Replacements: Kyle Cooper, Wiehahn Herbst, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Jacques Botes, Charl McLeod, Meyer Bosman, Odwa Ndungane.
