Johannesburg – The Sharks have included backs Paul Jordaan and Patrick Lambie in a 24-man squad for the Super 15 final against Waikato Chiefs in New Zealand on Saturday.

Both missed the 26-19 semifinal triumph over fellow South Africans the Stormers last Saturday through injury, with Lambie also absent from a play-off triumph over title holders Queensland Reds in Australia the previous weekend.

Versatile Springbok Lambie, who played at full-back during the 2011 World Cup, aggravated a knee injury in the final round of league action and Jordaan suffered a hamstring problem against the Reds.

The starting line-up against the Stormers plus the seven replacements are retained by New Zealand-born coach John Plumtree as the Sharks seek a first southern hemisphere provincial championship title.

They finished runners-up to the Reds, New South Wales Waratahs and the Bulls while the Chiefs lost to the Pretoria-based Bulls in a previous final appearance.

The Sharks squad is South African apart from France fly-half Frederic Michalak, who contributed 16 points against the Stormers in Cape Town with two penalties, two conversions and two drop goals.

Super 15 organisers Sanzar have announced that Australia-based referee Steve Walsh will referee the final, assisted by South African Craig Joubert and New Zealander Keith Brown.
