Johannesburg – Coach Paul Treu has included two new caps in the Springbok Sevens squad for the opening round of the Sevens World Series in Gold Coast, Australia, next week.

Flanker Reuben Johannes and wing Ruwellyn Isbell were included in the 12-man squad on Thursday.

“Our aim is to win the World Series,” Treu said after he named his squad.

“We had a disappointing campaign last season but have put that firmly behind us.

“The team is under no illusion that this is a massive year waiting for us.”

South Africa, who won their maiden Sevens World Series crown in 2009, finished fifth in the standings last season.

New Zealand ended top of the overall table, securing their title in the annual series.
