AmaZulu will appear before the Premier Soccer League's (PSL) disciplinary committee on charges of spectator misbehaviour and unsporting behaviour, the league said in a statement on Tuesday.
The move followed an incident in a league match between the club and Free State Stars on August 17 at King Zwelithini Stadium, where a spectator threw an object at a match official.
Also facing the committee is First Division side Atlie FC, for allegedly failing to submit a correctly completed team sheet, contravening league rule 12.7.
The rule requires that players' jerseys must be clearly and appropriately numbered, with the numbers corresponding with those on a team sheet. This happened in the team's league game against FC Cape Town on August 20.
According to the PSL's statement, during the course of the match it was established that the numbers of at least three players on the team sheet had been allocated to different players.
Meanwhile, the PSL's new prosecutor, advocate Ntsientso Mofokeng, also heard a dispute case between Jean-Marc Ithier and Santos. Both parties appeared before the PSL's dispute resolution chamber last week. Ithier claimed unfair dismissal from the club when his contract as assistant coach was terminated by the Cape side.
The chamber listened to submissions from both parties and ruled that: “The weight of the evidence does not support a dismissal of Ithier, but rather the termination of an oral agreement between Ithier and the club.” – Sapa
