Johannesburg - The Bafana Bafana squad announcement scheduled for Thursday has been postponed until further notice, the SA Football Association said.

Instead, a joint memorial service will be held to honour Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, athlete Mbulaeni Mulaudzi and boxer Phindile Mwelase at the Standard Bank Arena, Johannesburg, at noon on Thursday.

The South African national soccer team host Sudan in Nelspruit on November 15 before travelling to Nigeria the following week in their last two African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Meyiwa, who played for Orlando Pirates, was shot dead while visiting his girlfriend in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, on Sunday evening.

Mulaudzi, 800m Commonwealth Games gold medalist in 2002 and Olympics silver medalist in 2004, died in a car accident last week while female professional boxer Mwelase died on Saturday after being in a coma for two weeks.
