Johannesburg – Ten people, who included a former Bafana Bafana player, were arrested in Germiston, East Rand before they could hijack a truck transporting cigarettes, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

”Police got a tip off on Wednesday about the planned hijacking and the description of the vehicles to be used. Two of the suspects were in full Ekurhuleni metro police uniforms,” he said.

The two men in uniform were not police officers, Makhubela said. The former soccer player used to play for Jomo Cosmos and Bafana Bafana.

Makhubela said they were charged with conspiracy to hijack a truck.

”The other two in uniform also face charges of impersonating police officers. They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.” – ANA
