Manchester - Angel di Maria will miss Manchester United's match against Liverpool on Sunday as the winger remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Although the Argentina international misses a third game, defenders Rafael da Silva (groin) and Phil Jones (shin) return from injury. Defenders Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling, and midfielder Daley Blind are still recovering from injuries.

Manager Louis van Gaal says “now, I have only four players injured, so that's better than ever I believe.”

Despite the injuries, United has won five consecutive Premier League matches to climb to third in the league.

While United appears to be recovering after last season's seventh-place finish, Liverpool is in decline. Last season's runners-up are now ninth in the standings.
