Johannesburg – Tefu Mashamaite and Stuart Baxter were named as the Premiership's best player and coach for the months of September and October.

The pair, who bagged R5000 each, were instrumental in Kaizer Chiefs' outstanding undefeated run in the league.

Their scintillating form culminated in the club being runaway first-quarter victors having collected 28 points in 10 games.

Coach Baxter said the only blemish in the team's near perfect showing their 1-1 draw with fellow Soweto giants Moroka Swallows.

Mashamaite, the central defender, has been rewarded for his top displays with a Bafana Bafana call-up.

He has been a stellar stand-in captain for Chiefs while they await the return from injury of Itumeleng Khune.
