Cape Town – SuperSport United have unveiled Bafana Bafana captain, Dean Furman, as their high-profile signing on Tuesday evening.

The club’s CEO, Stan Matthews, made the announcement on a live television broadcast. Furman has signed a two-year contract with SuperSport.

Furman, a former Doncaster Rovers player, had trials during the off-season at English Championship side Blackburn Rovers but failed to win a contract.

As a free agent, he decided to continue his career in Mzansi with Matsatsantsa.

The Cape Town-born midfielder came through the youth ranks at Chelsea but later failed to break into the senior side.

Subsequently he played for Rangers in Scotland as well as Bradford City and Oldham Athletic.
