Johannesburg – SuperSport United announced late Friday that the club had signed striker Lehlohonolo Majoro from Kaizer Chiefs on a long-term contract.

United made the announcement on social networking website Twitter shortly after 5pm saying: “(at)supersportfc is proud to announce the signing of Lehlohonolo Majoro. He will join United this month #SSUSignings.”

The move for the unsettled attacker ends months of speculation, after Majoro had confirmed late last year that he was looking for a move away from Chiefs, due to a lack of regular game-time.

Majoro was a man in demand, after being linked to the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, before eventually settling on United.

Majoro made 70 appearances for Amakhosi since joining from AmaZulu in 2011, scoring 20 goals along the way.

Majoro's contract was set to expire in June 2014, making him available to sign on a pre-contract for United, and as a result, the Bafana Bafana international was able to join Matsatsantsa straight away. – Sapa
