Johannesburg – Mogakolodi Ngele scored a brace as Platinum Stars eased past SuperSport United 3-0 in a Premiership clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Sunday afternoon.

Henrico Botes had put the hosts in the lead with his 34th minute strike, before Ngele added goals in the 49th and 64th minutes, to lift Stars to fourth on the league table.

Moroka Swallows, in the process, took over from United at the top of the table on goal-difference, without playing a game, as a result of United's comprehensive defeat.

Botes, who came on as an enforced 30th minute substitute, opened the score with a superb 25-metre ground shot that caught Matsatsantsa goalkeeper Ronwen Williams on the wrong foot.

Ngele took over after half-time and within four minutes, opened his account, before adding a second with less than half-an-hour to play. – Sapa
