Kris Jenner can’t bring herself to call her former husband Caitlyn.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the Kardashian momager revealed that she is uncomfortable with the transformation of Bruce Jenner into Caitlyn, and so just refers to her by their shared surname.
“I just say ‘Jenner’,” she explained.
The 59-year-old admitted that the Caitlyn phenomenon has hit her family “really, really” hard, but that she’’s trying to see the positive side of it.
“It's hard, you know, it's really, really hard. What I have realised in all of this is that everyone handles stuff a different way. No matter what it is, you know. We're all people. We all have different emotions,” she said.
But Jenner, Kris that is, says she’’s getting to know Caitlyn a bit better and has found out that she is a very different person to the Bruce she once thought she knew.
“I just thought she would be a little bit different,” said Kris.
“Bruce had a distinct personality and, you know, had definite characteristics. And Caitlyn has some different ones, I feel.”
Still, there’s some way to go before Kris is completely comfortable with the new situation. When asked if Caitlyn would be allowed to come over and curl up on the couch with her, she said: “I don't know about curl up on the couch, but she came over for a drink last night. And that was nice.”
