London - Nick Cannon claims he was only told his family home was being sold after the deal was complete.
The 'America's Got Talent' host has filed a lawsuit against business manager Michael Kane, in which he alleges all the details of the $9 million sale of the Bel Air mansion he used to share with estranged wife Mariah Carey and their twins Moroccan and Monroe, three, were shared with the 'Hero' singer, while he was kept in the dark, TMZ reports.
Although Nick insists he never authorised the sale, that isn't the problem, instead he is angry that Kane failed to keep him informed from start to finish and is particularly concerned about how the proceeds from selling the house will be divided.
The 34-year-old star wants the $9 million frozen until he is given a detailed accounting of the cash.
The business manager has slammed the lawsuit as "frivolous" and said it is "clearly a desperate act from a sadly desperate man."
Meanwhile, Nick is reportedly paying $11 000 a month for a six-bedroom, eight-bathroom New Jersey estate to keep his twins away from the public eye.
Though the hunky presenter - who has a net worth of over $20 million - is currently renting the secluded home in Saddle River neighborhood, he is hoping to buy it for $3 million in the near future if the location works out well.
Moroccan and Monroe will be dividing their time between Nick and Mariah, who will be kicking off her Las Vegas residency at the Caesars Palace on May 6.
Nick filed for divorce from Mariah in December following their split last summer after six years of marriage.
