Jamie Dornan will reprise his role as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels after all.

After rumours started circulating last week that Dornan was abandoning the red dungeon, the actor signed on for a further two films for a reported £4.5-million.

According to the Daily Mail, the actor had indeed planned to part ways with the franchise, but the revised contract offer persuaded him to stay.

“The money on offer was just too good. He's been really worried that he will get typecast as Christian Grey and it will do his long-term career ambitions damage,” said a source close to the actor.

“So he was about to walk away and leave it all behind. Then bosses of the movie came back with the jaw dropping offer.”

One of the sticking points in Dornan signing on for more S&M-themed erotica was reportedly the reservations of his wife of two-years Amelia. However, the source claims that this was not the case.

“Amelia has not issue with it all. But Jamie is too embarrased to let her see the racier scenes. “

Last week, representatives for Dornan were at pains to stress that he had not made a final decision on his involvement in Fifty Shades. They later released a statement saying: “Jamie is delighted that the film is breaking box office records worldwide and whilst the studio has not made any formal announcements about sequels, he is looking forward to making the next film.”

Fifty Shades, despite enduring a mauling from film critics, has been a box-office success. The popularity has also done wonders for Dornan’’s profile in Hollywood, and the actor has already lined up another film role.

The actor is believed to have secured the lead role in Anthropoid. This upcoming war movie centres on the 1942 assassination attempt on the notorious SS officer Reinhard Heydrich, and will be directed by Sean Ellis. Filming is expected to commence in July.
