Child Protection Services officers rushed to the Kardashian mansion on Friday after they received reports of child abuse.

According to the Daily Mail, the reality TV family were horrified when the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services showed up to investigate claims that teenage daughters Kendall and Kylie were being abused. No evidence of abuse was found, but a source told gossip site Radaronline that the department was obliged to investigate any such allegations.

“Social workers met with the girls individually and determined that they were fine but out of an abundance of caution, cops and social workers will be making another visit to the house Monday afternoon before they officially close the case.”

The Kardashian family claim the incident was the work of a “prank caller”. Radaronline further reported that Kris Jenner suspects a tabloid journalist made the allegations and has hired a private investigator to find the source.

Fifteen-year-old Kylie was in the Phillipines for a fashion show at the time of the incident. Both she and her sister left school last year in order to pursue modelling careers. The girls are homeschooled.

Despite the ugly nature of the incident, the Kardashian family ended their weekend with a celebration for father Bruce’s 63rd birthday. Seventeen-year-old Kendall tweeted “Happy birthday to the most wonderful man I know, my dad!” and shared a picture of herself cuddling up with Bruce during a family dinner.
