Rapper 50 Cent and comedian Chelsea Handler have been spotted together a few times over recent weeks, but both stars have been quick to deny any chance of a blossoming romance.
But, according to the Daily Mail, the pair seem to be on the road to making it official after 50 Cent appeared on a skit on Handler's show, Chelsea Lately. The rapper, real name Curtis James Jackson, makes his entrance as Handler's staff discuss his autobiography during a book club meeting.
Handler introduces the skit by saying: "There are all sorts of rumours going around about myself and a certain rapper with a number in his name."
In the skit, the staff poke fun at 50 Cent's drug-dealing past. They also turn up the innuendo by mulling over the lyrics of his raunchy hit song Candy Shop, with references to Handler and a lollipop. When 50 Cent appears, another comedian Heather McDonald jokingly throws herself to the ground because she's afraid he might pull out a gun.
Instead, 50 whips out a copy of his autobiography and asks to join the book club. At which point, one of Handler's staff members then cheekily sat on his lap, saying: "It's just a rumour right now."
The guest appearance will only fuel further speculation.
50 Cent and Handler were spotted having brunch together on Monday in Malibu, and leaving together afterwards in the rapper's Rolls Royce.
Rumours of the two dating have been circulating for several weeks after they were spotted together looking very cosy at The Blue Nile Jazz Club in New Orleans at the beginning of October.
Chelsea took to Twitter to dispel the reports. "Everyone, calm down. I met with Mr. Cent about a potential project. There's nothing to report yet, I'll let you know if there is."
Handler and 50 Cent met in November 2009 when he appeared in her E! Television chat show.
