London - Liam Gallagher has tinnitus - the same hearing condition that plagues his brother Noel.

The Beady eye singer has suffered from a constant ringing in his ears for years and he considers having the condition a sign that he's a genuine rock star

Liam told The Sun newspaper: "Without a doubt I have tinnitus. You're not a proper rock 'n' roll star if you don't.

"I learned to live with it a long time ago. I put up with it - I just talk really loudly over it. I'm proud of it."

Liam's brother Noel - who he was in Oasis with - went for a brain scan after he began to experience the ringing noise in his ears, but the volatile frontman has no plans to seek medical help for his condition.

When asked what he thought of Noel's visit to the doctor's, he said: "Each to his own I suppose. He's got nothing else to do, hasn't he?"

Noel previously admitted he had a brain scan after worrying about the ringing in his ear.

He said: "I went for a brain scan. They did find it... I've got a bizarre ringing in my ears. I think it's just through playing guitar for the last 20 years, so I had to sit in a tube in the hospital ... It's an accumulation of many things but I've had a bloody great time doing it all and if I do eventually die of brain disease, it will have been worth it."

Liam and Noel aren't the only famous musicians to fall victim to tinnitus; Coldplay's Chris Martin, The Who's Pete Townshend and Morrissey all suffer from the inner-ear condition. - Bang Showbiz
