Freida Pinto felt like she had been “touched by God” when she went to the Oscars.
The 30-year-old never expected Slumdog Millionaire, which picked up eight Academy Awards in 2009, to be so successful and had an amazing night when she went to the prestigious ceremony for the first time.
She said: “Slumdog Millionaire was like a first love. None of what happened was expected; the next thing I know, I’m walking down the red carpet at the Oscars in my John Galliano dress. To feel the energy in that room – it was like being touched by God.”
The actress was so grateful to be invited to all of the awards ceremonies at the time that she’s kept a lot of souvenirs from that period of her life. In a piece for Los Angeles Magazine, Freida wrote: “I still have a small suitcase full of memorabilia from the ceremonies.”
