Kate Winslet insists she's a good mother.

The 'Labor Day' actress has come under fire for having two children by two different fathers - while currently expecting her third child with new husband Ned Rocknroll - but she is adamant she has always been a hands-on parent and hasn't left her kids in the company of nannies.

She told the new issue of Vogue magazine: "People go, 'Oh, my God! Those poor children! They must have gone through so much.' Says who? They've always been with me. They don't go from pillar to post; they're not flown here and there with nannies. That's never happened.

"My kids don't go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the mums and dads - my children live with me; that is it. That is it!"

Kate has nine-year-old son Joe with ex-husband Sam Mendes, and daughter Mia, 13, with first husband Jim Threapleton and insists her kids have great relationships with their respective dads.

The 38-year-old star - who wed Ned in December 2012 - has been enjoying pregnancy the third time around and her only qualm is a bizarre craving for orange juice.

She recently said: "At the moment I seem to be wanting orange juice a lot. I don't know quite why that is, but it's not so weird. I wish I could tell you I had some weird craving. I wish I could be like that woman on the advert who loves tuna fish and banana, but I'm not like that at all."
