Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou are headed for splitsville.
So say a number of online gossip sources who claim that the couple had “a big fight over money”, which led to Hounsou walking out. According to a report in the New York Daily News, the couple started squabbling when Kimora’s ex-husband, hip hop mogul Russel Simmons, decided to stop funding her lifestyle.
Sources close to the pair have said that former model and businesswoman Kimora has been disappointed by the lack of leading roles Hounsou has secured since he first burst onto the movie scene as the slave Cinque in the Steven Spielberg movie Amistad. Kimora is allegedly unwilling to make sacrifices on her lavish lifestyle.
Adding fuel to the fire is writer and poet Kola Boof, who rose to prominence by claiming that she was once Osama Bin Laden’s mistress. Boof claims that she and Hounsou had been sleeping together throughout his relationship with Kimora.
“I f@$#ed him more than she did,” Boof boasted on Twitter.
Boof further claims that the only reason she slept with Hounsou was to get revenge on Kimora, though she has thus far refused to explain exactly what Kimora did to spark her fury.
“The only reason I had sex with him was to get revenge on Kimora,” said Boof.
“Kimora nearly destroyed my life and my children’s lives. She is a lecherous, two-faced, money-obsessed witch and a delusional snob.” Hounsou, in his defence, claims that he has never even met Boof.
Both Hounsou and Kimora have kept quiet about the possible split, but Kimora is said to be already feeling the pinch. The Trulia Luxe Living blog reported that she is selling her Beverly Hills home at a $1.2m loss.
Simmons denied she was facing financial difficulty on Twitter, saying “Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?!” adding, “Rumors, Rumors ...” - Additional reporting from Bang Showbiz
