Lil Wayne's bus driver has accused the rapper of trying to kill him.

Mark Jones has filed a lawsuit against the 'Lollipop' hitmaker - who hired him to work on his summer tour last year - in which he claims the star became "irate" when he pulled over to refuel on their way to Buffalo, New York, at around 11.30pm and left him feeling so scared, he decided to keep driving and not stop for gas.

However, Mark then alleges Wayne continued his tirade, threatened to pistol whip him, "whip his ass" and then kill him, TMZ reports.

The bus driver claims the rapper pulled a gun on him, cocked it at close range and demanded to "get to the hotel now".

The subsequent 30-minute drive to the accommodation was then conducted in total silence.

The driver is suing the star for false imprisonment, assault and emotional distress.

While Wayne is the subject of the lawsuit, earlier this year he filed a case of his own when he sued record label Cash Money for $51 million, whose CEO is fellow rapper Birdman, claiming they owe him millions of dollars for his upcoming album 'Tha Carter V'.

As a result of the alleged withholding of funds, Wayne also sought to leave the record label and be declared joint copyright holder for everything released on his Cash Money imprint, Young Money, which includes Nicki Minaj and Drake recordings.
