Mel Gibson has serious anger management issues. The ‘Lethal Weapon’ star was accused of an anti-semetic rant by ‘Basic Instinct’ screenwriter Joe Eszterhas earlier this week, in which Gibson labelled Jewish people as “oven-dodgers”, and threatened to kill his ex-wife Oksana Grigorieva.
Gibson accused Eszterhas of an overactive imagination, but the screenwriter has since released an audio tape of one of the actor’s rants, casting doubt on Gibson’s denials.
Gibson’s explosion of rage took place in Costa Rica last year, and features some choice, explicit language. He and Eszterhas were working on the film project ‘The Maccabees’, which failed to get off the ground. Gibson blamed Eszterhas for the poor quality of his scripts, while Eszterhas claimed Gibson’s behaviour played a major role in the failure of the project.
Recorded by Eszterhas’ son Nick, the audio tape features Gibson in a particularly belligerent mood. The tape was offered to gossip site The Wrap, who first published the war of words between Gibson and Eszterhas.
“Why don't I have a first draft of “The Maccabees?” Gibson yells at Joe Eszterhas. “ What the f**k have you been doing?”
Later, Gibson vents his anger at his ex-wife. “I am earning money for a filthy little c**ksucker who takes advantage of me.”
Unable to shake off his rage, Gibson clearly loses control. He can be heard slamming objects in the house, and then bizarrely screams: “Who wants to eat? Who the f**k wants to eat? Go have something to eat. Hurraaayyyyy!”
Gibson then continues his swearing marathon, peppered with curses like “f**king c**t and c**ksucker whore”. - IOL
