KAMAL HAASAN addressed the media ahead of the release of his movie Uttama Villain and spoke about the Indian Supreme Court’s order regarding matters of freedom of expression online.

According to a report posted on cnn.com, India’s highest court reversed a controversial law that gave authorities sweeping powers to arrest and potentially jail people for comments posted on social networks and other internet platforms.

Supporting the court’s view and backing their decision, Hassan said: “I feel information technology’s growth should not be stopped, cannot be stopped.”

Also criticising the Indian Censor Board for their set of rules, the actor said: “If I feel like saying something in the language I want, I have to write and get permission from the Board. But I am an artiste, I have all the right to say what I want and also question them.” – Oneindia.in
