Ajith’s film Yennai Arindhaal has been billed as having something that no Tamil movie has had. OneIndia.in reporter Avinash Gopinath reports

Ajith’s latest movie, Yennai Arindhaal, has a unique touch to it, according to its director, Gautham Vasudev Menon.

The director said in an interview that the movie’s cinematography will be very new to the audience.

Yennai Arindhaal has been captured on lens by Dan Macarthur, an Australian director-cameraman.

“While our audience are well aware what our cameramen are capable of, Yennai Arindhaal will be a different experience as I was interested to see what angles Dan can bring into a particular scene,” said Menon.

When asked if he was able to understand the emotions of the characters, Menon said, “Each and every scene was explained to Dan before the shoot so that he knows exactly what the characters are going through. But, it was interesting to see how he approached the scene and that will give rise to a completely different camera angle and that excited me as a director,” he added.

Menon said every cinematographer has his own ideas, hence the same film can look different when shot by different cameramen.

Ster-Kinekor released Yennai Arindhaal, a mystery drama, on Friday and this Tamil blockbuster will be screened at Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban and The Zone@Rosebank in Joburg.

The film traces the journey of Sathya Dev (Ajith Kumar), a dedicated police officer who puts work ahead of his personal life. He also puts his own life on the line to make sure his jurisdiction stays free from violence and other illegal activities. But life takes an unpredictable turn when tragedy strikes in his personal life.

Sathya must make crucial decisions. Being of positive character and a distinguished gentleman, he has to put his values to one side, as the decision he has to make will change his him into the opposite of who he is. The film follows him as he embarks on a road trip – an unexpected journey that results in an interesting climax.

Yennai Arindhaal stars Kumar in the lead role, supported by Arun Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Anushka Shetty, Parvathy Nair and Vivek. The film is co-written and directed by Menon, and produced by A . Rathnam.

The soundtrack album and background score for the film is composed by Harris Jayaraj. – oneindia.in. Additional information from Ster-Kinekor
