ONCE UPON A TIME

(Season 3)

***

A spellbinding twist on fairy tales.

Legendary characters like Snow White, Prince Charming, Captain Hook, the Evil Queen, Peter Pan and Rumplestiltskin are plucked out of their bewitching worlds and thrust into an alternate reality in a fictional seaside town called Storybrooke.

One of the mainstays in the story, however, is Henry (Jared S Gilmore), who finds himself at the centre of a battle between his adopted mother Regina (aka Evil Queen), the mayor of the town and Emma Swan (the daughter of Prince Charming and Snow White). However, in the real world, she is more of a modern warrior.

Given the array of intoxicating characters, there are, of course, many quests and mystical battles that arise.

In the third instalment, the suspense is heart-racing as Peter Pan holds everyone hostage while he executes his diabolical plans. And, there is nothing heroic about him.

Meanwhile, Emma, Henry, Hook, Rumplestiltskin, Regina, Prince Charming and Snow White find themselves becoming reluctant participants in his master plan.

As this is a fantasy, set in the Enchanted Forest, evil is confronted by good.

This series continues to generate interest thanks to the compelling twists in the traditional tale. What’s also a big drawcard is the fact that some of the villains manage to redeem themselves.

It’s a warped yet wonderful world that yields much fascination!
