BOLLYWOOD fans are in for a treat this month as Bollywood superstar Govinda can be seen live on stage next weekend .
According to the actor’s fan club page on Facebook, he started his acting career with romantic and family drama films. Later, he moved to comedy, partnering mostly with David Dhawan, and was very successful.
Now the actor returns to our shores as The Airport Times Event is ready to set the stage alight again with Govinda who was voted the 10th Greatest Star of Stage/Screen of the last 1 000 years by BBC News Online users.
Govinda has received 12 Filmfare Awards nominations, won a Filmfare Special Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Comedian, and received four Zee Cine Awards. He has starred in movies like Hum, Partner, Hatya, Hero No.1 and many hits with some of the big stars of Bollywood.
Govinda will be accompanied by his dancers from India who will perform with him on stage. The Airport Times have always had crowd interaction with their stars and this time will be no different. An excited Govinda is rehearsing very hard to please his fans in South Africa. This is his second visit to the country, the first being in 1991 with Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachan for the Jumma Chumma Concert.
Joining Govinda will be legendary playback singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik who will perform their hit songs, both solos and duets. Accompanying them will be a group of talented musicians.
