Jackman - who stars as Blackbeard, Peter Pan's nemesis, in the prequel to JM Barrie's classic novel - isn't really bothered about looking hideous as long he pulls off his character, but thinks people will start commenting on his bad teeth from the film.

Asked if it's liberating to play someone that will give children nightmares, he said: "I'm glad you mentioned my teeth. I think somebody is going to think I'm in need of great dental work. I don't really have any attachment, I just want to look more like the character."

The 'Wolverine' star also admitted he has no idea what his real hairstyle is like because the movies he has been in have dictated the cut he gets.

He told ShortList magazine: "I don't know what my real haircut [would look like] if I had one. I haven't had one in 20 years that was actually my choice. And probably my body as well , you know because I've been in 'Wolverine' for 17 or 18 years, so all the training isn't really me either."
