Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub has died at the age of 77.

TMZ reports the Tinseltown legend - who produced movies such as the 'Ocean's 11' remake and the 'Karate Kid' franchise - passed away on Monday at his Palm Springs home.

He is believed to have been suffering ill health recently and was surrounded by family members when he passed away.

Jerry split from his wife Jane Morgan in the 1980s after approximately 20 years of marriage, although they never divorced.

He has been living with girlfriend Susie Ekins for almost 20 years and earlier this year spoke about his amicable relationship with Jane, revealing that she calls him daily.

He explained to Vanity Fair that every day: "Each of my four children and Jane, my wife, will call to check in."

The couple have three adopted daughters, while Jerry also has a son from a previous marriage.
