BANG Bang is an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure. This is the kind of movie that has a practical storyline, but not so much so as to spoil the essential ingredients required to have a fun time.

Plot

An unsuspecting bank receptionist, Harleen Sahani (Kaif) becomes an ally to Rajveer Nanda (Roshan), a smooth criminal who has stolen India’s prestigious Kohinoor diamond.

Harleen’s life takes an unexpected detour when she falls in love with Rajveer. Soon the police and a dangerous crime boss, Omar Zafar (Danny Denzongpa), are hot on their heels.

Verdict

This is an impressive transition for director Siddharth Anand as he makes a breakthrough into the action genre. His best known films to date have been in the romance and comedy genres.

While the plot is anything but complex and spellbinding, this is an action-comedy-romance that is merely driven by its action sequences. Anand wastes no time in getting right to the point. There are several superbly executed chase sequences and mind-blowing stunts that are sure to keep viewers enthralled.

Another aspect that keeps the pace alive is the rapid-fire dialogue between the lead pair. There are certain moments in the film when the writing allows for more dialogue and romance to interject a sense of Bollywood tradition to the story.

Roshan and Kaif have sizzling chemistry on screen and enough charm and personality to turn this into a highly stimulating journey for the senses. It’s also no surprise that their characters incite some hilarious moments.

There are substantial supporting performances from Denzongpa, Pawan Malhotra and Jaaved Jaffrey.

Recommendation

Recommended for a fun time to. A film that will please fans of the action genre.
