Disney have enjoyed a hugely successful couple of years with the likes of Frozen and Big Hero 6 under their belt... and now Moana is on the horizon.

Moana is set to be the fifty sixth Disney animated feature but we have got over a year to wait until the movie hits the big screen. However, we do have the first image and some beautiful concept art to share with you.

Ron Clements and John Musker are set to team up in the director's chair and the duo has also penned the screenplay with Taika Waititi.

Auli'i Cravalho is set to bring the character of Moana alive, while Dwayne Johnson is also on board as Maui.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped - and no one today knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfil her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

Moana is released 2nd December 2016
