Producer AM Ratnam made news when he announced he would make Indian 2 which is sure to please Kamal Haasan fans.
The producer who ventured into Tamil cinema through Indian has confirmed that Indian 2 is definitely on and that he has already spoken about it with Shankar. Pre-production will begin next year and the film will be made in Tamil and Telugu.
Apart from producing Ajith’s Thala 56, the producer will also be distributing the Telugu version of Enthiran 2.
Indian, at the time of its release, was the highest-grossing Tamil film until it was surpassed by Padayappa, three years later. It was also nominated by India as its entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the 1996 Oscars.
If Indian 2 happens, Shankar will work with Hassan after almost two decades.
