Amy Schumer's 'Star Wars' GQ spread has been blasted as “inappropriate”.

The 34-year-old comic posed for a sexy shoot for the magazine which included a picture of her naked in bed with classic characters R2-D2 and C-3PO but a message on the official 'Star Wars' Twitter feed insisted the spread was not approved.

When fan @RogueKnite wrote: “I love @AmySchumer & her comedy routine(s). But this GQ #StarWars spread is just in poor taste,” a reply on the official 'Star Wars' Twitter replied: “Lucasfilm & Disney did not approve, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner.”

The cover shows Amy suggestively sucking C-3PO's finger while inside the magazine an image shows her dancing with stormtroopers.

Amy also dressed up as heroine Princess Leia for the spread.

One of Amy’s Twitter followers ‘majesticfloridaI’ foresaw the backlash, writing: ”hope lucasfilns doesn't kill you?? (sic), with many others saying they found the spread hilarious.

'Trainwreck' star Amy has seen her popularity soar over the past year and claimed recently that much of her popularity as a comedian can be attributed to the fact she feels comfortable in her own skin.

She explained: “I'm not the skinniest or prettiest girl. But who cares? I feel sexy and beautiful. I'm single, but never struggle for suitors.

“I don't mean to sound cocky, but I like myself, I'm proud of myself and people respond to that.

“The surgery and starving that comes with Hollywood is sick. I don't want anything bad enough not to eat.”
