Zee TV stars SA-bound

ZEE TV fans are in for a treat when the Zee Superstars in Concert hits Durban and Joburg stages soon.

Considered a heart-throb by many women, Shabbir Ahluwalia, known as Abhi from the popular series Kum Kum Bhagya; Ravi Dubey known as Siddarth from the series Jamai Raja and Neha Marda known as Urmi from the series Doli Armaano Ki, are set to touch down on South African soil for the event. All three Zee Stars are excited to be performing in South Africa for the first time.

The added attraction will be Saregamapa L’il Champs winner, Azmat Hussain, who will perform Bollywood chartbusters along with the hit songs of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The international guests will be joined on stage by the popular Bollywood Showband.

Ahluwalia has bagged many awards to date including the Best Villain award. The actor made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Shootout at Lokhandwala. His second movie was Mission Istanbul. Presently he plays the lead role of rock star Abhi in the serial Kum Kum Bhagya which is rated No 1 on Zee TV.

Dubey found fame for his role of Tej in the daily series Saas Bina Sasural. He also participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 and was one of the finalist couples together with Sargun. The talented actor has been signed to work on Zee TV’s serial Jamai Raja which is based on a Bollywood movie of the same name featuring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Hema Malini.

Marda shot to fame for her role of Gehna in Balika Vadhu on the Colors Channel. Her interests are acting as well as dancing and she won three consecutive Boogie Woogie Dancing competitions on the Sony Channel between the ages of 17 and 19. Having a great interest in dancing, she learnt bharatnatyam for nine years and kathak for seven years, along with several other dance forms. Presently she plays the lead role of Urmi on Zee TV’s serial Doli Armaano Ki.

• Zee Superstars in Concert will take place on Saturday, March 7 at the Durban City Hall at 7pm and Sunday, March 8 The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, Joburg, at 5pm.

Tickets for the Durban concert are priced at R160, R180, R220, R250, R350, R500 and VIP at R1 000 and will be available from all Computicket outlets, Shoprite checkers, Maharaj’s Prayer Goods (Gem City) and Sunrise Fruiterers (Overport).
