IS THERE a Prime Circle song that makes you feel like you’re on cloud nine? A verse in the lyrics that makes you sway from side to side without a care in the world?

Well, imagine being presented with the chance to see the band perform live just for you.

This is what the band plan to do for 300 of their biggest fans.

“It’s our birthday and we wanted to do something more exclusive and a little bit different to commemorate for ourselves and do something for the fans,” said lead singer and guitarist Ross Learmonth.

For its exclusive birthday bash, the rock group will be performing at the Rand Airport in Germiston on December 16 and sending their loyal music lovers on Prime Circle Air.

Fans can look forward to flying in vintage Douglas DC-3 Dakotas as well as Douglas DC-4 Skymasters and being entertained by supporting acts Tailor and Saving Silence.

“There will be four planes and eight flights. They will be flying very low through Joburg with the people, they will land at the airport and then we will be performing an acoustic set for them,” he said.

This special concert is also part of the band’s new album promotion. Titled Let the Night In, the group performed the new album of songs on the world stage during their 30-date European tour.

“It was an amazing tour. The venues are growing and people are getting excited about the music. It’s always nice to see how people received us over the years,” said Learmonth.

Tickets for this exclusive event cost R1 200 and R1 500, depending on the plane ride fans choose. Drinks and snacks are included. The concert is from 2pm to 8pm.

The band will be embarking on a month-long, year-end tour starting today at Wanderers Stadium for the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup. The tour ends at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden on January 4.
