RAPPER AKA may have just won a Metro FM award for best collaboration and been nominated for this year’s Ghana Music Awards, but not every fan will get to congratulate him.

The All Eyes on Me singer has taken a stance against fans who didn’t buy his new album, Levels, online or in stores.

He has decided to decline taking a photo with any fan who can’t prove they’ve bought his music.

In a series of tweets, he said: “New rule: We can’t take a photo if you can’t prove or at least convince me that you own my album.

“If I ask you what your favourite song on Levels is and you say ‘all of them’, you automatically disqualified from all photo opportunities.

“Asking for a photo doesn’t make you a fan. Being proud to purchase my music does. You can’t name the album that I spent two years making, invested countless hours, blood sweat and tears in? I’m your biggest fan? My a**!”

The award winner said he felt more passionate about his cause because he and his girlfriend DJ Zinhle were expecting their first child together.

“Ok so u want me to take a photo with you, while you download my music from file share sites, just so u can look cool on Facebook? Nah fam.

“I’m about to start a family. U pirate my music, you take food off my table. None of ur b******* Twitter reverse psychology can justify that. If you don’t buy the music and I deny you a photo… I can’t ‘lose’ you as a fan… you were never a fan to begin with,” he tweeted.

The Ghana Music Awards announced on Tuesday that AKA had been nominated in the African artist of the year category and was going up against other African rappers and singers such as Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Don Jazzy, Yemi Alade and the Mavin Group Patoranking.
