“B***h, I’m Madonna!”
It’s the new song from the Material Girl and, in her mind at least, the perfect response to those critics who have been calling on her to act her age.
In her latest video, a teaser for the upcoming song “B***h, I’m Madonna” featuring Nicky Minaj, the unrepentant 56-year old gyrates like a stripper in tiny hotpants and high heels.
Madonna has recently faced a backlash over her attempts at generating publicity. Critics claim her choice of clothing – usually streetwear associated with teens – and provocative dancing is not age appropriate for a woman approaching her sixties.
In an interview with E!Online, Madonna hit back at her detractors: “I am acting my age. This is me, this is how I wanna be. I can do what I want, OK?
“There's no rules, and people should just leave me alone. Let me do what I wanna do.”
“B***h I'm Madonna” is the third song off her latest studio album, Rebel Heart, and - according to Madonna’s Instagram post - the video will feature appearances by Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Rita Ora and, of course, Nicki Minaj.
