A poor attempt to try to fit into the EDM industry.
SOMETIMES it’s tough to maintain that level of excellence you set for yourself as an artist. And when your music is considered anything less than the standard people expect from you, it will not go unnoticed.
Sadly, this is the case with American Rock band Linkin Park’s second remix album, Recharged.
Produced by Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda, the 14-track album includes reinterpretations of 10 of the songs from the band’s fifth studio album, Living Things.
The main attraction of the album is A Light That Never Comes (and a reboot of it) with Steve Aoki. The single has received much air play and can be considered a valued effort.
Other tracks to look out for are Burn It Down and Powerless. The rest of the tracks aren’t awful, but not great either. The band tried to take a different approach with this album as it features a lot more dubstep and EDM than their previous stuff.
Unfortunately, Recharged does not possess the ‘Wow’ factor Linkin Park fans expect from the heavy nu-metal band. – Valencia Govindasamy
