The eagerly anticipated film charting the life story of Elvis Presley is to be overseen by The Last King of Scotland director Kevin MacDonald.

Last Train to Memphis is adapted from Peter Guralnick's 1995 biography of the same name and will chronicle Presley's early years and his transformation from a “high school kid to an overnight sensation credited with ushering in a radical new era in music”.

Mick Jagger and Victoria Pearman's company Jagged Films is reportedly searching for an actor to play the young Presley and has launched a website where hopefuls can submit audition tapes. - The Independent
