GIG OF THE WEEK

Durban electronic Music Festival

Berea Rovers| (Tomorrow)

CALLING all Durban music lovers: it’s time to heat up this summer with the Durban Electronic Music Festival (Demf) as well as the Maher Zain concert, both going down tomorrow.

The Demf event takes place

at Berea Rovers, while the Zain concert takes place at Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium.

Demf is the first official Durban Electronic Music Festival, and features a staggering array of

top-flight entertainment, two international artists, the world’s sexiest DJ, Juicy M and 10 top South African acts and showcases the hottest talent on the Durban scene right now.

Backing the event are Durban’s power-house entertainment brands, including The Origin Nightclub, New School Productions and Ultra Kru Events.

Headliner Juicy M is from Ukraine and is currently the most-watched DJ on YouTube. And for good reason. She’s been voted Most Sexy DJ on the Planet.

Also in the line-up are Niskerone, Liquideep, Napalma, 5FM stalwarts Kent and Euphonik and Pascal and Pearce.

As for the multi-platinum-selling artist Zain, he is set to wow crowds in his debut South African concert.

The 32-year-old Muslim Swedish R&B singer, songwriter and music producer has won more than 40 platinum awards and is recognised worldwide for his songs that inspire, entertain and spread messages of peace, unity and hope.

His music mixes the sounds of R&B with traditional spiritual, soul and contemporary pop music, and draws on both Eastern and Western influences.

Catch the Demf tomorrow at Berea Rovers from 11am until midnight. Strictly over-18s only.

Tickets are R100 at Computicket. Visit www.demf.biz.

Zain also performs tomorrow, at Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium. 8pm. Tickets are R150 to R1 000 at Computicket. – Tonight Reporter
