GIG OF THE WEEK

MTV Base and Klipdrift premium Urban Smooth sSessions

eYadini Lounge (Tomorrow)

ONE thing is certain, you can always count on the MTV Base and Klipdrift Premium Urban Smooth Sessions for a rocking night. So party goers will be glad to know they can catch some of South Africa’s urban greats with the coolest DJs at the eYadini Lounge in Umlazi tomorrow.

Filling the dance floor at

this month’s edition of the sessions are Mi Casa and Liquideep, alongside house sensation Busisiwa, while DJs Tira, C’ndo, Benny Maverick and LAB will be on

the decks till the early hours.

According to the MTV Base website, South Africa’s most soulful and creative house collective, Mi Casa always deliver the goods, thanks to the talents of DJ and producer Dr Duda, guitar and supervocalist J’Something

and trumpeter Mo-T.

The multiple award winning trio is riding high in the charts with their hit single Jika.

Back for a second outing at MTV Base and Klipdrift Premium Urban Smooth Sessions is Liquideep.

Long after their breakthrough track Fairytale first made house aficionados sit up and pay attention, singer, songwriter and producer Zyon and DJ and producer Ryzor continue to win fans thanks to the deep house grooves showcased on their third album, Welcome Aboard, which hit shops earlier this year.

Then there’s rising ethno-house star Busiswa, a new age performance poet and singer who combines infectious stage energy with an authentically African sound and beautifully hypnotic beats.

• Catch the MTV Base and Klipdrift Premium Urban Smooth Sessions tomorrow at the eYadini Lounge in Umlazi. Starts 2pm. Tickets cost R100 at the door. For more information, see www.klipdrift.co.za.
