They have played at some of the most prominent live venues and clubs in South Africa and are well known for getting the crowd dancing.

Shortstraw are proud to have had great success with two singles from their 2013 sophomore album Good Morning, Sunshine, both of which placed among the Top 5 on 5FM’s Top 40 countdown last year.

Shortstraw also won Best Indie Act at the 2013 MK Awards for the music video for One Long Day and at the 2014 MK Awards, they picked up Best Album for Good Morning, Sunshine and Best Video for Waterworks.

Shortstraw also had the honour of opening for international bands such as The Klooks (UK), Last Dinosaurs (Australia) and the Dune Rats (Australia), and were asked to play at all the prominent music festivals in South Africa, as well as at the Vic Falls Carnival in Zimbabwe.

This year, Shortstraw joined Aussie Indie group The Jungles Giants in a city tour of Australia.
