It must be every music fan’s dream to share the stage with their idol, but one Australian concert goer got a little more than he bargained for. Californian punk rock band NOFX were playing a gig in Sydney when a young fan named Alex managed to bypass security, jump on stage and put his arm around lead singer Fat Mike.

In true punk rock style, Fat Mike then elbowed the overzealous fan, knocking him to the ground, before delivering a crude coup de grace with a drop kick to Alex’s face. He then carried on strumming his guitar as if nothing happened.

What had really enraged Fat Mike was that he had told the crowd earlier in the show that he was suffering from neck pain.

Despite his beating, Alex was more than happy to take the blame. According to TMZ, he tweeted Fat Mike after the show and apologised, claiming he had been drinking and had forgotten about the singer’s ailment.

NOFX were formed in 1983. They have never been signed to a major record label, but have released 12 studio albums and have sold over 6-million records worldwide. - Tonight Reporter
