GIG OF THE WEEK

Maleh

Zamajobe & Maleh

Bassline (tomorrow)

AUGUST is Women’s Month and Bassline is celebrating with a series of shows.

The programme starts tomorrow with a double bill that features vocal powerhouses Maleh and Zamajobe.

“I am happy to be working with Zamajobe because she is one of those people I have always looked up to. I did some backing vocals for her way before I had my own material and it is an honour to open for her. She is talented and we are going to have fun,” said Maleh.

The singer felt that this show has come at the right time as she needs to showcase her much newer, Sama-winning material.

“I think it’s a good time to be having this show because my song Ke Mo Afrika celebrates women. It’s important to remind people who we are and where we come from,” she said.

It’s not often that you see a pair like this together so it will be worth going to see women celebrate their uniqueness. They have years of experience so it will be a night of nothing but hits. – Munya Vomo

l Bassline is at 10 Henry Nxumalo Street, Newtown and the event starts at 8pm. Tickets costs R180 at Webtickets, R200 at the door.
