GIG OF THE WEEK

Seven Sounds Music Festival

Common Ground Park-Maboneng Precinct (tomorrow)

If you are a music lover then the Seven Sounds Music Festival is for you. This is where anything goes, a festival that is not genre-specific.

With Seven Sounds you get to sample seven musicians who are hot in South Africa at present. You have a strong chance of finding something that you will fancy.

The line-up includes Dave Baudains, Yo Grapes, The Urban Village, Toya Delazy, Arno Carstens and Moonchild.

Baudains is known for his infectious acoustic sound while Delazy is loud and animated. If you are in the mood for rock music then Carstens’s set will be the one you need to look out for.

Although the first act will start at 11am, gates will open at 10am. Every act has an hour to perform and a new sound will take over after 60 minutes. The park will have food vendors and a bar area. The place is small for a festival and only 700 tickets are for sale. Jump on it now. – Munya Vomo

l R190 at www.seven sounds.co.za or you can take a chance and try to get them tomorrow at the venue for R250. Children under 12 enter free with their parents. No 13- to 17-year-olds.
