Tshwane gospel artist, Tebs David ( pictured) is back with a new CD/DVD called No More. The man who’s made waves on the international market has finally tailor-made a project for his local fans.

“This has been a good year. After targeting so many local churches in the past, I realised that people are discouraged. They were in dire need of revival and I thought it best to make an album that will be uplifting to their souls,” said the singer.

“People need to be happy and they have to have something to look forward to and on this album I made sure that I spread the good news of Jesus Christ,” he added.

The same people that David was making this music for had not accepted him initially so it is intriguing that he had the same people in mind for this project.

“It was hard for me to break into the South African market yet I was making it in foreign countries. This was really annoying because it was as if I was not good enough for my own people. But as time went on, they warmed up to me and appreciate what I do. I have had a change of heart in that regard and that is why this album is dedicated to the South African fans,” said David.

He did admit that perhaps the problem was because of his marketing strategy at the time.

“I did market my albums outside a lot more than I did at home. Now I’ve re-checked that. We have a good balance and are seeing results in all territories,” he said.

The album release comes with an 11-city nationwide tour.

“We are still finalising the places we are going to go to, but we are looking at the whole of South Africa and the region. We have all the major cities covered and countries like Kenya, Botswana and Zimbabwe. It’s all going to be done before the end of the year and so we have a lot of work ahead of us,” he said.

David made use of his gospel connections to make some memorable duets, making No More an instant classic.

“I roped in a few of my friends to help out and these include Winnie Mashaba, Solly Mahlangu and Benjamin Dube. The other people to look out for are Pastor Phil and Myra. It was a fun project to do,” he said.

l The No More tour starts on September 26.
