All the bad publicity must be getting to poor ol’ Justin Bieber, because the teen pop idol is “retiring”.
The 19-year-old star, who has caused controversy in recent months for antics including partying underage in nightclubs and entertaining prostitutes in Brazil, is planning to take a break from the music industry when his new album, 'Journals,' is released next week, and it could be permanent.
The 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker told radio station Power 106 in Los Angeles this week: “After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring.”
He then suggested he hasn't quite made up his mind, adding: “I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature.”
But the singer is no longer attracted to the idea of fame.
He said: “I'm here solely for my fans and for the music.”
A source close to Justin insisted he was just joking and has no plans to permanently hang up his microphone.
The insider said: “The kid's got ambition.”
Justin also hit back at his critics and denied he is becoming increasingly “arrogant.”
He said: “People think I'm arrogant, I'm not, I've always been a caring and giving person.”
He added: “I'm 19 I'm gonna make mistakes it's inevitable.”
Justin’s “caring and giving” nature was nowhere in evidence on Friday last week, when he loudly proclaimed that he “f**ks b****es” at a comedy event.
The singer had made an impromptu on-stage appearance at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and quickly became the target of a series of jokes from comedian Chris D’Elia.
After inviting the singer on stage, D’Elia immediately started mocking Bieber’s clothes.
“I brought him up here because he wanted to say hi to you guys,” he said. “But I also brought him up here because his outfit is the most f***ing ridiculous outfit I ever saw in my life.”
Bieber displayed obvious discomfort, laughing awkwardly as D’Elia continued by checking out what Bieber was wearing underneath his sweater. “A leather tanktop! Well I guess if your going to be somebody that wears that you are going to have to be Justin Bieber.”
D’Elia mocked every item of his Bieber’s clothing, saving special disdain for the star’s sports jersey.
“Hey is this one of those jerseys I was talking about?” he asked. “Hey no name on the back, that means he's only f***ed himself.”
To which Bieber quickly added: “And b****es.”
To which D'Elia retorted: “Hey you’re the finest b**** in here, that's all I'm saying.” - Tonight Reporter
