If you’re a Beatles fan, accept the fact that nothing is sacred anymore.

That’s because twerking Miley Cyrus and her infamous tongue are recording a cover of the iconic Fab Four track “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”.

The former Hannah Montana star has an unlikely partner in crime for this cover version in the form of Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips. The shaggy-haired Coyne is far removed from Miley’s usual coterie of blinged-out rappers.

Coyne shared a snap of Miley in the studio to promote the upcoming track.

“Miley in the studio vomiting diamonds while singing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds!! If you're a Beatles and John Lennon freak you gonna love love love this track!!”

Other pictures of their time in the studio includes, naturally, Miley sticking her tongue out, and also rolling a joint.

The caption accompanying the latter pic reads: “Yup...... Recordin with Miley... High as f**k....”

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is a song associated with drug use, although the late John Lennon denied this, claiming the song was inspired by a nursery school drawing by his son Julian. However, in a 2004 interview, Paul McCartney confirmed that the song was indeed about LSD.

“A song like Got to Get You into My Life, that's directly about pot, although everyone missed it at the time,” he said. “Day Tripper, that's one about acid.

“Lucy in the Sky, that's pretty obvious. There's others that make subtle hints about drugs, but, you know, it's easy to overestimate the influence of drugs on the Beatles' music.”

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds was on the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, released in 1967. It was the biggest selling album of the sixties. - Tonight Reporter
