SUNDAY Twitter can never be complete without an outburst from poet Ntsiki Mazwai.

After hearing news that rapper AKA won two awards at the second Annual African Musik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in the US, Mazwai went on a rant.

AKA won for Best Male Southern Africa, beating rival Cassper Nyovest, Donald from South Africa and Zeus from Botswana. His second award was in the Best Collaboration category for his track All Eyes on Me, featuring Burna Boy, DA L.E.S and J.R.

After retweeting @MinziSean congratulating the rapper on his win, Mazwai tweeted: “But u know award don’t mean sh*t ne? Its all very political. Awards r made by people…’Talent is made by Jah.”

She then continued to say that awards can be won with no talent, and talent doesn’t need validation. But her rant didn’t stop with AKA.

Mazwai said that if you are with “white people, black people will elevate you”.

She then insinuated that singer Lira didn’t deserve the Best Female Solo Artist in the SA Music Awards in 2010.

She tweeted: “Awards r definitely political and about who ur with – like when Lira won best female against Thandiswa and Busi Mhlongo. What a big fat lie!”

Not all her followers were impressed. @jubzin9 responded: “you sounding bitter manje” and @kano_wane said: “wabona? Then you get roasted & wanna cry.”

She continued: “I think I’m going to marry a white guy who has power in the music industry… then I’ll win awards and be a huge star!!!!!”

Lira is married to her manager and co-founder of Jazzworx recording studios, Robin Kohl – a white man.

The singer, who has been performing at the Macufe festival in Bloemfontein with American songstress Tamia, didn’t respond to the tweets.

Lira instead tweeted: “It is a very good morning. May the fullness of its beauty and joy be experienced by you all. Have a wonderful day Fam. #BeHappy.”

AKA was too pleased with his awards to worry about Mazwai. He tweeted: “I don’t want any props from these vultures. This moment is for my fans… ONLY my fans.”

Mazwai has responded to The Star's coverage of her Twitter rant:
